Hearty "Home-Sweet-Home" Chili Mac

There is nothing quite like the smell of a home-cooked meal to make a house feel like a home. Whether you are fueling up for a weekend of open houses or settling into a new space, this One-Pot Chili Mac is the ultimate comfort food. It’s quick, budget-friendly, and perfect for feeding a hungry family.

Tomato Sauce (8 oz)

Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies

1 can (14.5 oz)

Yellow Onion (diced)

1 medium

Spice

Chili Powder

2 tbsp

Spice

Cumin, Garlic Powder, Salt, Pepper

To taste

Cheese

Shredded Sharp Cheddar

2 cups

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.

  2. Season: Stir in the chili powder, cumin, and garlic powder. Let the spices toast with the meat for about a minute to wake up the flavors.

  3. Simmer: Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (don't drain them!), beef broth, and the dry macaroni.

  4. Cook: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.

  5. The Grand Finale: Turn off the heat and stir in the shredded cheese until it's a melted, gooey masterpiece.
